Welcome to the 5th Learning Journey "Computing Paradigms: Cloud and Edge Computing" as part of Digital Dexterity Program at Adani Group. This Journey is designed to deepen your comprehension of cutting-edge technologies such as Cloud and Edge Computing, equipping you with the knowledge to maneuver through the intricacies of our digital era.  The Journey starts with important message from Anil Sardana (MD - Adani Energy Solutions and Adani Power) where he highlights the importance of opportunities granted to us in terms of Digital Dexterity. He emphasizes the importance of Sensors and IoTs, drones and robotics and some of the few uses cases that have we ahve been using at Adani. The Journey is facilitated by Tushar Jaruhar (Faculty - EMERITUS). Deep Dive into the area of Computing Paradigms - Cloud Computing Edge Computing. Cloud Computing delivers computing services (computing power, storage, databases, networking, analytics, software, intelligence) over the internet, enabling faster innovation, flexible resources, and cost savings. Edge Computing reduces latency, bandwidth usage, and reliance on centralized data centers by moving computation and data storage closer to the network edge, near IoT devices, sensors, and end-user devices. This Journey covers the four cloud deployment models (public, private, hybrid, multi-cloud) and three service models: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. SaaS in Indian ecosystem with examples like Rapido and Zomato are discussed, along with Adani's cloud journey and future trends. For edge computing, the journey focuses on its need, benefits, challenges, motivations, edge nodes, and architecture. It distinguishes between edge computing and edge platforms. Industry use cases demonstrating edge computing's impact on healthcare, manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, utilities, smart cities, AR/VR, and IoT are explored. The journey also covers edge deployment at Adani and future edge computing trends. NOTE: You are required to follow a structured learning path i.e. start moving from the first learning track that is showing up, move into the next ones post completing it, go through knowledge checks as they arrive in learning path and complete the Final Assessment.
